Why I Started the Lacrosse General Store
The idea for the Lacrosse General Store didn’t come from a business plan. It came from a miserable, rainsoaked tournament weekend.
It dumped rain the entire time. We were completely unprepared for the weather, and by the end of day one every piece of gear was soaked — gloves, arm pads, shoes, everything. The hotel room smelled like wet gear, and in a moment of desperation I tried to dry my kid’s glove with the wallunit hair dryer. It blew out inside the glove. Nothing dried. The room stunk. The gear was still soaked and stunk the next morning.
That weekend made one thing painfully clear: lacrosse families need better solutions for the realities of the sport.
So we started with the product we desperately wished we had that day — a portable glove and shoe dryer. Something small enough to toss in a suitcase, powerful enough to save a weekend, and smart enough to protect leather instead of destroying it. The soft UV light keeps gloves and shoes from getting crusty, cuts down the smell, and helps gear last longer.
Now it’s the first thing we pack for travel weekends. A tiny insurance policy that doesn’t take up much room but is absolutely lifechanging when you need it.
And that’s why I started the Lacrosse General Store: to make sure no parent or player has to go through another soakedgear disaster weekend without the tools to fix it.
